MoP Classic P5 Beast Mastery Hunter Guide
Do not delay Kill Command, keep your pet attacking, and during Bestial Wrath use low-cost abilities to maximize burst.
Core resource:Focus
Core Rotation
- Save Focus for the next Kill Command; use Arcane Shot only when resources are safe.
- Use Focus Fire at five stacks of Frenzy according to burst needs; align Bestial Wrath with trinkets/raid buffs.
- On multi-target, keep pet on primary target; maintain Beast Cleave with Multi-Shot.
Mechanics and Opener
- Focus:Cobra Shot regenerates energy, Arcane/Multi-Shot consume it; the goal is to have resources for Kill Command and burst windows, not always hitting zero.
- Kill Command:Executed by pet; target distance, path, and pet survival can make lit abilities fail; pet control is part of your rotation.
- Bestial Wrath:Significantly strengthens and reduces Focus cost. Pool Focus, procs, and trinkets before Bestial Wrath; it determines how many high-value abilities fit in the window.
- -2 sec|Potion and Misdirect to the tank:First burst safely transfers threat.
- -1.5 sec|Pre-cast Cobra Shot, pet charge:Gain Focus and keep pet on target immediately on pull.
- 0 sec|Serpent Sting/Kill Command:Establish sustained damage and activate highest-priority short cooldowns.
- After procs are ready|Bestial Wrath + Rapid Fire/Racial:Stack resource discounts and damage buffs in full stationary segments.
- Inside the window|Use Kill Command on cooldown, dump focus with Arcane Shot, and use Cobra Shot when focus is low.:Maximize effective GCDs inside Bestial Wrath without starving the next Kill Command.
Common Mistakes and WCL Review
- Pet pathing or unreachable targets directly lose core damage.
- Don't empty your Focus right before Kill Command comes off cooldown.
- Kill Command delay, pet uptime, and Beast Cleave coverage.
- Ability density during Bestial Wrath, Focus capping, and Frenzy stacks.
