MoP Classic P5 Marksmanship Hunter Guide
Chimera Shot on cooldown; Steady Shot maintains buff and provides focus; save instant Aimed Shot for appropriate targets.
Core resource:Focus
Core Rotation
- Prioritize Chimera Shot, reserve focus for it; pair Steady Shots to refresh Steady Focus.
- Consume free/instant Aimed Shot procs promptly; use regular Aimed Shot only when safe to stand still and resources are sufficient.
- Use Rapid Fire with trinkets and Execute or long stationary phases; use Multi-Shot to trigger Bombardment on multiple targets.
Mechanics and Opener
- Aimed Shot Window:Aimed Shot's value is affected by haste, crit, and target phase; cast during high buffs, switch to instant abilities when moving or low on resources.
- Chimera Shot:Short cooldown high priority and refreshes Serpent Sting-related effects; a fixed anchor in the rotation.
- Focused planning:Use Steady Shot in groups to maintain haste/energy regen buff; ensure enough focus before Chimera Shot comes off cooldown.
- -2 sec|Potion, Misdirection, and pre-cast Aimed Shot:Let the longest cast land at the moment of pull.
- 0 sec|Chimera Shot and establish Serpent Sting:Activate short cooldowns and sustained damage.
- Afterwards|Rapid Fire + trinkets, cast empowered Aimed Shot:Push casts into haste and crit peaks.
- Concentrated low position|Consecutive Steady Shots to maintain the buff:Regain energy while not letting Steady Shot buffs drop.
- Execute available|Weave in Kill Shot without delaying Chimera Shot.:Improves instant execute and maintains rotation anchors.
Common Mistakes and WCL Review
- Refresh Steady Focus before moving; don't let Chimera Shot be delayed repeatedly by movement.
- Short-lived adds are not worth casting a full Aimed Shot.
- Chimera Shot average delay and Steady Focus uptime.
- Wasting Aimed Shot procs, auto-shot/pet downtime, and focus capping.
