MoP Classic P5 Windwalker Monk Guide

Smooth dual-resource rotation; keep Tiger Palm and Rising Sun Kick debuffs up; stack Tigereye Brew to match high-value burst windows.

Core resource:Energy · Chi

Core Rotation

  • Jab generates Chi; maintain Tiger Power and Rising Sun Kick debuff; fill with Blackout Kick.
  • Avoid repeating the same ability and breaking Mastery benefit; consume free procs before capping resources.
  • Use Tigereye Brew at high stacks with trinkets, potions, and boss vulnerability/key reinforcements.

Mechanics and Opener

  • Energy and Chi:Energy generates Chi; Chi drives core abilities like Rising Sun Kick and Fists of Fury; capping either resource compresses subsequent combos.
  • Tiger Power:Tiger Palm maintains armor debuff/self-buff and is the foundation for all target DPS; don't let it drop due to target swaps or AOE.
  • Tigereye Brew:Consume Chi to build stacks, drink actively during trinket, potion, and high-value target windows; full stacks without drinking is a loss.
  • -2 sec|Potion; pre-cast Chi Wave/Xuen based on distance:Let ranged abilities contribute before contact.
  • 0 sec|Jab → Tiger Palm:Establish Tiger Power at the earliest opportunity.
  • Afterwards|Rising Sun Kick:Activate highest-priority short cooldowns and vulnerability.
  • Resource Abundance|Fists of Fury (confirm targets won't move):Only a full channel yields high benefit.
  • Procs ready/stacks sufficient|Tigereye Brew + Energizing Brew, continue core kicks:Stack resource burst and damage multipliers.

Common Mistakes and WCL Review

  • Waiting at full energy while Chi abilities are ready causes double loss.
  • Storm, Earth, and Fire clones only on targets worth sustained damage; confirm no incorrect duplication.
  • Energy/Chi overflow and repeated ability ratio.
  • Tiger Power, Rising Sun Kick debuff uptime, and Tigereye Brew stacks/window value.
