MoP Classic P5 Holy Paladin Guide

Beacon of Light steadily converts single-target healing; Holy Shock generates Holy Power; Eternal Flame or Light of Dawn consumes based on damage pattern.

Core resource:Mana · Holy Power

Core Rotation

  • Beacon on the target taking sustained damage; Holy Shock on cooldown; use Infusion of Light to speed up high-value casts.
  • Use Eternal Flame for spread sustained damage and Light of Dawn for stacked raid damage; avoid Holy Power capping.
  • Assign Avenging Wrath, Divine Favor, Guardian of Ancient Kings, and Devotion Aura to different pressure waves.

Mechanics and Opener

  • Holy Power:Holy Shock and specific direct heals generate Holy Power; Word of Glory/Light of Dawn consume it. The core is to store appropriate stacks before damage and cash in quickly after.
  • Beacon of Light:Transfers designated healing to Beacon target. It changes the real value of each direct heal and determines choices in two-tank vs single-tank scenarios.
  • Mastery absorb:Direct heals leave Radiant healing absorb; pre-healing has value, but mindless spam on full-health targets wastes mana.
  • -10 sec|Beacon of Light on main tank/designated target, pre-pool Holy Power:Establish teleport network and emergency budget before pull.
  • -3 sec|Sacred Shield/Eternal Flame pre-applied per build:Have sustained protection already active for the first melee hits.
  • 0 sec|Use Holy Shock to generate Holy Power in low-pressure phases.:Maintain resource cycles without wasting major heals.
  • Before first spike|Pre-use Hand of Sacrifice/Divine Favor according to the schedule:Damage reduction and cast-enhancing effects must be active before the damage occurs.
  • When raid damage lands|Holy Shock → Light of Dawn/Holy Radiance:Use pre-stored Holy Power to immediately fill raid-wide gaps.

Common Mistakes and WCL Review

  • Don't force Light of Dawn when the raid is spread.
  • Using expensive heals to pad when there's no pressure will cause mana collapse in the second half.
  • Holy Shock delay, Holy Power capping, and Beacon effective transfer.
  • Eternal Flame uptime, number of targets hit by each healing cooldown, and overhealing.
