MoP Classic P5 Retribution Paladin Guide
Judgment/Crusader Strike generate Holy Power, Templar's Verdict spends it, and Inquisition stays up; stack Avenging Wrath and Guardian of Ancient Kings into a full burst window.
Core resource:Holy Power
Core Rotation
- Maintain Inquisition, generate Holy Power with Crusader Strike, Judgment, and Exorcism by priority.
- At 3–5 Holy Power use Templar's Verdict; consume Divine Purpose and Art of War procs promptly.
- Pre-align Avenging Wrath and Guardian of Ancient Kings with trinkets, potions, and execute phase.
Mechanics and Opener
- Holy Power:Generate Holy Power by priority, spend with Templar's Verdict/Divine Storm; avoid generating at full Holy Power is fundamental.
- Inquisition:Long-term Holy damage buff. Refreshing too early wastes Holy Power; gaps weaken nearly the entire burst window.
- Warrior's Art/Procs:Procs reset or empower specific abilities. Prioritize procs, but do not break the rhythm of Judgment/Crusader Strike and Holy Power.
- -2 sec|Potion; engage at range with Exorcism/Judgment:Immediately before and after pull, start Holy Power and proc chains.
- 0–3 sec|Crusader Strike and Judgment generate Holy Power:Quickly establish Inquisition budget.
- First 3 Holy Power|Inquisition:Let all subsequent holy damage benefit from the full buff.
- Afterwards|Avenging Wrath + Guardian + trinkets:Stack main multipliers into stable melee windows.
- During burst|Alternate Holy Power generators and Templar's Verdict, avoid capping Holy Power:Maximize the number of finishers inside Avenging Wrath.
Common Mistakes and WCL Review
- Don't refresh Inquisition too early before a phase transition.
- Plan your GCDs ahead when using Hand of Sacrifice/Protection to assist, so you don't clip key resource-generating abilities.
- Inquisition uptime, Holy Power capping, and Verdict quality.
- Overlap duration of Wings/Guardian, proc waste, and effective uptime in melee range.
