MoP Classic P5 Holy Priest Guide

Choose Chakra by combat type, Prayer of Mending and Circle of Healing for sustained raid damage, Serenity/Sanctuary by single-target or grouped scenarios.

Core resource:Mana

Core Rotation

  • Chakra: Serenity serves single-target; Chakra: Sanctuary serves grouped raid damage; switch before the pressure window.
  • Use Prayer of Mending on cooldown on stable damage takers; use Circle of Healing only when enough targets are hit.
  • Serendipity stacks speed up Prayer of Healing/Greater Heal; schedule Divine Hymn during sustained raid damage.

Mechanics and Opener

  • Chakra:Chakra determines single-target or AoE spell enhancement; switch proactively when the damage model changes; do not lock one for the entire fight.
  • Holy Word:Changes function with Chakra; short CD high-efficiency tool. Delaying one use often cascades into losing multiple later uses.
  • Renew and Lightwell:Sustained healing requires pre-coverage and depends on allies/positioning. They should serve predictable damage, not exist during no-damage periods.
  • -10 sec|Choose first phase Chakra; place Lightwell at the gathering point:First match the damage model and raid movement.
  • -4 sec|Pre-hot Renew on first wave of sustained damage takers:Have HoTs already ticking when damage arrives.
  • 0 sec|Maintain Renew/Prayer of Mending rhythm in low-pressure phases.:Don't waste high-mana AoE heals.
  • Before raid damage|Put Prayer of Mending on targets about to be hit:Ensure jumps occur immediately.
  • Damage lands|Holy Word + Prayer of Healing/Circle of Healing:Use high-efficiency short cooldowns first, then fill group gaps.

Common Mistakes and WCL Review

  • Hard-casting in the wrong Chakra loses both efficiency and mana.
  • Place Lightwell where players can easily click and mechanics won't cover it.
  • Whether Chakra choice and Holy Word usage match the damage pattern.
  • Prayer of Mending bounces, Circle of Healing hits, Serendipity stacks, and Divine Hymn coverage.
