Core resource:Mana · Shadow Orbs

Core Rotation

  • Maintain Shadow Word: Pain and Vampiric Touch, use Mind Blast on cooldown to generate orbs, cast Devouring Plague at three orbs.
  • During Devouring Plague, prioritize Mind Flay; don't let Divine Insight/Shadowy Apparition procs overflow.
  • On multi-target, only apply DoTs to long-lived units; during execute, weave Shadow Word: Death based on health.

Mechanics and Opener

  • Three DoTs:Shadow Word: Pain, Vampiric Touch, and Devouring Plague have different costs; multi-target must be filtered by lifespan.
  • Mind Flay: Insanity:During Devouring Plague, empowered filler should be fully utilized within stationary windows, but don't channel through mechanics.

  • 3 orbs|Devouring Plague:Enter highest damage window with full resources.

Common Mistakes and WCL Review

  • Don't keep using orb-generating abilities once Shadow Orbs are capped.
  • Save instant casts and Shadow Word: Death before moving; don't do full cast setups on short-lived adds.
  • Mind Blast delay, orb capping, and three-orb Plague ratio.
  • Double DoT uptime, Insanity windows, and execute ability count.
