MoP Classic P5 Assassination Rogue Guide
Rupture drives energy regeneration; Envenom maintains poison buff; pool energy to ensure continuous attacks during Vendetta and execute windows.
Core resource:Energy · Combo Points
Core Rotation
- Garrote/Mutilate generate combo points; keep Rupture up; use remaining combo points on Envenom to maintain buffs.
- Use Dispatch on Blindside procs; at low target health switch to Dispatch as main combo point generator.
- Pool energy before Vendetta, then dump it with Shadow Blades, trinkets, and potions.
Mechanics and Opener
- Poisons and Rip:Deadly Poison provides sustained damage, and Rupture drives energy regeneration. Letting either drop not only loses damage but also slows the subsequent energy cycle.
- Energy pool:Assassination doesn't require pressing buttons immediately when energy is available. Pool energy before finishers to chain buffs and avoid getting stuck when switching targets.
- Execute/Envenom window:Envenom provides a short poison buff; combo points, energy, and remaining DoT duration together determine when to use it, not a fixed timer.
- -2 sec|Stealth, potion, confirm main-hand/off-hand poisons.:First round trinket and poison system active from pull.
- 0 sec|Open with Garrote/Ambush per build.:Use stealth abilities to establish initial combo points and sustained damage.
- First batch of points|Rupture:Start energy regeneration and long-term damage as early as possible.
- Afterwards|Mutilate to build combo points, Slice and Dice as needed:Maintain a steady rate of auto attacks and poison application.
- High combo points, high energy|Vendetta + Envenom consecutive windows:Stack poison buffs, trinkets, and target vulnerability.
Common Mistakes and WCL Review
- Rupture falling off loses both damage and energy regeneration.
- Before frequent target switching, judge if poisons and Rupture have time to pay off.
- Rupture/Envenom uptime, energy capping, and combo point waste.
- Ability density within Vendetta windows, Blindside procs, and effective melee uptime.
