MoP Classic P5 Restoration Shaman Guide

Riptide builds Tidal Waves, choose Chain Heal/Healing Wave based on positioning and pressure, Healing Rain and Spirit Link cover stacked raid damage.

Core resource:Mana

Core Rotation

  • Use Riptide on cooldown on sustained damage targets, use Tidal Waves to speed up or empower the next batch of single-target heals.
  • When the raid is stacked, pre-cast Healing Rain; start Chain Heal from a target taking high damage and able to bounce fully.
  • Use Mana Tide early to serve the whole team's mana, and assign Healing Tide and Spirit Link to the heaviest raid damage.

Mechanics and Opener

  • Tidal Waves:Riptide/Chain Heal provide buff stacks that alter Healing Wave and Greater Healing Wave cast time and crit. Stacks should be continuously consumed by high-value direct heals.
  • Chain Heal:Depends on distance between targets and first jump choice; start from a low-health target in the center of the group, far better than mindlessly casting on the current target.
  • Earth Shield and totems:Earth Shield stabilizes tank healing; totems like Healing Stream provide high efficiency based on position and timing; forgetting them is permanent loss.
  • -10 sec|Earth Shield on main tank; confirm Water Shield and totem positions:Complete permanent setup before pull.
  • -4 sec|Pre-hot tanks/first debuffs with Riptide.:Generate Tidal Waves and establish sustained healing.
  • 0 sec|Healing Stream Totem lands with the first wave of damage.:Start the cooldown cycle of short-CD totems.
  • Before raid damage|Healing Rain at the stack point.:Ground effects require early positioning.
  • Damage lands|Chain Heal from the central injured target, weaving in Riptide.:Maximize each bounce and Tidal Waves stack usage.

Common Mistakes and WCL Review

  • Hard-casting Chain Heal when the raid is spread yields very low value.
  • Spirit Link redistributes health, must be placed to cover key members.
  • Riptide, Healing Rain uptime, and average Chain Heal hits.
  • Tidal Waves consumption, mana curve, and number of people covered by raid cooldowns.
