MoP Classic P5 Arms Warrior Guide
Mortal Strike reliably generates Overpower; concentrate high-value abilities inside Colossus Smash windows; convert rage into consecutive Executes during execute phase.
Core resource:Rage
Core Rotation
- Use Mortal Strike on cooldown, consume Overpower procs promptly, and use Slam only when rage is safe and no higher-priority ability is available.
- Pool rage before Colossus Smash, and fit Mortal Strike, Slam, and major cooldowns into the armor debuff window.
- On two targets, activate Sweeping Strikes; in low-health phase, conserve rage for consecutive Executes rather than emptying early.
Mechanics and Opener
- Colossus Smash:Ability value increases significantly during short armor debuff windows; rage, Overpower stacks, and Mortal Strike cooldown should be prepared for this window.
- Suppression:Procs/mechanics provide low-cost high-value attacks and drive Deadly Calm rhythm; consume before reaching stack cap.
- Rage:Rage must be dumped inside Colossus Smash, and saved for the next window outside it; Heroic Strike-type off-GCD spending most easily causes rage starvation.
- -2 sec|Potion, Charge:Generate rage and stay in melee range immediately on pull.
- 0 sec|Mortal Strike initiates procs:Enter core short cooldown and suppression cycle.
- Afterwards|Colossus Smash + trinket/Skull Banner:Start first armor reduction burst.
- Armor Debuff Window|Mortal Strike, Overpower, Slam; weave in Heroic Strike at high rage.:Push highest priority abilities and extra rage spends into windows.
- Outside the window|Maintain Mortal Strike/Overpower and re-pool rage.:Prepare for the next Colossus Smash instead of continuing to waste resources.
Common Mistakes and WCL Review
- Insufficient rage before Colossus Smash wastes the most important damage window.
- Frequent target switching loses Rend/Sunder benefits; obey kill priority first.
- Delayed Mortal Strike, wasted Overpower procs, and rage capping.
- Damage share inside Colossus Smash uptime, Sweeping Strikes copies, and Execute count.
